On my first night here I went for a walk. In the wrong direction. I blithely headed into the warehouse district with a shrug and a sense of adventure. Andit was boring. It was really boring. The most interesting thing I saw was the loud woman waiting for a bus.
Tonight, my last night, as I was gazing out my hotel room window and saw the Mississippi, I decided to give walking another shot. And off I headed over the bridge and straight into college country – Univ of Minn – and found everything one might want to see during a two hour stroll in a new city including a bar called “Minneapolis, Minnesota Library” right across the street from a real branch of the Minn Libraries. I’ll add that the bar also provides free wireless.
But the big find was a shop called Magus Books and Herbs that sold, interestingly enough, books and herbs. In my fantasy of how the walk would go I would find crystallized ginger to settle my stomach for the plane ride. Magus fulfilled this longing for $1.27 an ounce. All hail Minneapolis!
