I know I’ve been away for a while and I have nothing exciting to report (in part A) except a little catch-up in snakelady world.
I took Thanksgiving week off and got a lot done. For one thing, 12 kinds of cookies. This year I won’t regale you with the list but I will tell a baking tale in a later post. I got my holiday cards written, printed sealed and addressed. I have the envelopes for the family history project addressed but the hard covered books were delivered without covers. I had to ship them back for the covers to be put on properly and they expect to have them to me the end of this week so I am still right on schedule (in fact a bit early). Despite all this it was an incredibly relaxing week.
We got our tree already. Sorry to everyone who feels that cutting down a tree for your living room is wrong. I feel like I should hide the fact that we do this. But I love it and we do indeed do it. It is lit and decorated and making us very happy. We also got an ENORMOUS wreath for the front of the house.
When I was working on the family history project I spent 7-9 hours every Saturday working on the project. Now that I don’t have that dedicated computer time with spaces to take a break and write in the blog it’s gone a bit neglected.
What has not gone neglected is my television viewing. I have become a huge LOST fan. I’ve really enjoyed it. The last show I was this “in” to was Battlestar Gallactica. I recommend that one, too. Also, Being Human (the original British version) about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost all trying to live normal human lives in the face of their issues. I know it sounds ridiculous and very sci-fi but the show is actually very, very human and the characters completely believable.
Part B. Ok, this blog will soon get very exciting again. After the family history project ships I will begin to post it here, chapter by chapter and family and friends will be able to use the comments feature to make corrections and add stories. Hopefully it will become very interactive. I’ll start with the most recent generations so that when I’m done the very oldest generation will be on top. I hope those reading this will find it interesting to read.
