My classic movie watching has held me in really good stead for things lile Jeopardy and conversation with elite intellectual liberals (EILs). Where it has fallen down on the job is with DJ Trivia.
If you’re not familiar with DJ Trivia, it is a bar game played in teams on weeknights. Hubby, Dragon and I have formed a team and we play Wednesdays. One evening we won house cash fat enough to buy a round of cheesy bread and we’ve been living in that reflcted glory ever since.
DJ Trivia is huge on flags, world geography and capitals, sports, popular music, and thirty-something year old movies. Back to the Future. Dirty dancing. Steel Magnolias. Pretty Woman.
None of these are award winners, or even shoulda coulda wouldas. However, just as I am now on a quest to familiarize myself with the flags of the world, for the good of my team I must become more fluent with popular movies of the 80s and 90s. When I get to those decades, expect to see more of them.
Ghostbusters and Jurassic Park here I come!
