Ramadan 2018: The Eid Party Was a Smashing Success

Ramadan Mubarak

My friends are the best.

I remember a time after I moved back to Lansing when I felt isolated and lonely. Now my life is full of close friends and I am so grateful for them.

Everyone came with a great attitude. They were thrilled to celebrate with me, and while I said there was no need to dress up, many people wore fancy clothes, including matching purple outfits from Marie and her husband.

First, we took care of business. Betsie pinned wedding outfits for J & B and they talked alterations. Then we settled down for some very comfortable conversation while other guests arrived.

The food was terrific and luckily everyone liked Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant that catered us had fab vegan options, too.

B won for having attended the most different kinds of parties at 38 and Marie came in second at 32 and each received a Celebration Cinema gift card.

The one thing I was a little nervous about – playing Cards Against Humanity- went great and helped bring everyone closer together. Jacob and Mike were the winners and took hime the other two movie gift cards.

The party went on three times longer than initially planned and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Ramadan Mubarak everyone! Here’s to my next thirty years!
