A pause for Snakelady station identification

Greetings readers, this is a heads up on what’s coming in the next few months. It’s been great to have February to write about whatever came up, but I’m on to new series!

At the end of this week I’ll do a formal promo of my Library School Diaries posts about my time at Wayne State 2003-2006. The series will run the beginning of March-end of April. Wondering what role this man will play? Find out on Friday!

If Allah doesn’t like it, why would you think it will bring you happiness?

During Ramadan, which is late April through the end of May, I’ll be back on the topic of faith. I’m approaching possible guest authors and developing a series of posts about the influence Islam has had on my life. My theme is that Islam is a huge umbrella with room for lots of kinds of people. Including me. I’ll show you.

In June, I’ll be back for some post-WSU tales of librarianship-on-the-edge including how Disney delivered on their promise of magical moments in the midst of a hurricane. Also! How I was recruited as “a good speaker with a thick skin” to do a 5-minute presentation on a professional failure in front of 500 colleagues at the Michigan Library Association annual conference. My boss agreed to the proposal with this caveat: Don’t mess this up. No pressure!

(MLA also recruited presentations on professional successes. I wondered at the time: why did they approach ME for a failure story??)

The plum bedroom? Oh, that’s happening. It may happen in my home while other things are going on here, but have no fear, I know how to document! I WILL return to this topic.

I really appreciate your readership! Over the course of the Katherine Philips series, I learned a lot about blogging, and graphics, and I’m trying to up my game. You’ll find more frequent polls, photos, and better layout (thanks to WordPress’s “Block” editing). Your comments and likes mean a lot. Thanks for spending time with me.
