Scout, the kitten we got last summer, is almost a grown cat now. He’s a good size for a nine month old – sturdy. Actually? He’s getting a bit porky. He reminds me of an endearing line from James Herriott’s All Things Bright and Beautiful about a litter of kittens who almost didn’t make it:ContinueContinue reading “Scout update: “Them kittens big cats now””

Scout Finds a New Favorite Perch
Scout has been trying to figure out how to clamber up onto the entertainment center for a couple of weeks and today he managed it. Floor to rocker to speaker to entertainment center. Scout cashed in on the Norris Family Medical Plan today with a trip to the Waverly Animal Clinic. On the way, he yowled and howled. Candy usually has a few choice words for us when a car trip is in the making but she was sanguine. The senior cat. She offered an occasional, mild, “Meow,”ContinueContinue reading ““No offense, Scout””
