Remember when I mentioned that we went to the home show at the MSU pavilion this spring and set up two appointments for home repair work? Apparently, someone forgot to tell the contractors that we’re in a recession and they need the work. Hubby screened the companies at the show – asking enough questions toContinueContinue reading “At Least Your Lousy Contractors Show Up”

Lansing Home and Garden Show
This weekend Hubby and I went to the Lansing home and garden show at the MSU Pavilion. It was a very good show. Hubby made appointments with two companies to come take a look at the two garage doors (the overhead and the side door). Ever since he put in a heater a few yearsContinueContinue reading “Lansing Home and Garden Show”
Fences, Christmas Cookes and Jenn Air Stoves
Hubby and I went to talk to Fred! (to refresh your memory of Fred read here) about the fence, which Fred hates. This year we are water proofing the fence. It’s been a long haul of several weekends but it’s almost done. Today I will finish up while hubby is at work. We went overContinueContinue reading “Fences, Christmas Cookes and Jenn Air Stoves”

It took two adults an hour and a half to get the batteries in this. Absolutely no comment.

This year two old-time friends came and brought peppers from their gardens – jalapenos, serranos, habaneros and salsareffic. Hubby’s chili is not-to-be-toyed with chili. It isContinueContinue reading “7th Annual Chili Fest”

The previous owners of our home, the ones hubby can’t stop bad mouthing, came by to visit one of the neighbors last week and complained, “What did they do to my YARD?” The neighbor promptly reported this to us. I love triangles. What happened to the yardContinueContinue reading “Mind Your Own Grubs”
Peel and Stick Vinyl Tiles
This story would be enhanced by photos but I don’t have ones of the early project so the these will suffice for now: Here’s the first photo – the current basement tile that we are leaving down in the hall and on the stairs. It’s in fine shape and I have no “tile ego” thatContinueContinue reading “Peel and Stick Vinyl Tiles”
