Marilyn Monroe

This one is going in the master bath where I can see it every day. Go! Marilyn!

Back to Work

A quick post to say I just completed two weeks of full-time work with no restrictions. My best time of day is still early morning and it is not unusual for me to go to bed while it’s light out but I am doing very well with a combination of oxygen, medication, and careful planning,ContinueContinue reading “Back to Work”

Resilience

I’ve wanted to write before now but it’s a little tricky to be talking about your medical progress when you’re on FMLA. Better safe and discreet than sorry. I’ll keep it brief. My nightly oxygen has been increased twice since I last checked in, but oxygen alone hasn’t solved my issues. My pulmonologist and myContinueContinue reading “Resilience”

He looks at the X-Ray. “Number 19?” he asks. I confirm. He slips gas over my nose, “This will help you relax,” heContinueContinue reading “Dr. McDreamy”

Goodbye 19

The most important thing I learned today: how much louder the bedroom TV needs to be so I can hear Firefly over the oxygen-creating air compressor that was just delivered for me. The most comforting thing I learned today: my sleep problems aren’t necessarily a result of my weight (I would view that as anContinueContinue reading “Goodbye 19”

There’s an App for That

Smartphone app detects mood swings via voice analysis: This would be so awesome. Then they could send me a text saying, “Up your Lithium” or whatever else. It still has a human component, which is cool, but a 3rd party monitoring system just to keep a little check going would be awesome.
