Dear Neighbors Who Don’t Read My Blog (that being all of you)

Dear 4 sets of neighbors whose backyards circle around my back yard,

We’re the ones with the streetlight type thing on the Board of Water and Light post in our backyard. Yup, its in my yard, my name is SnakeLady, I pay for the light.

We also noticed that last summer it started going out sometimes. We’d be eating dinner out there and it would just go out. It’s supposed to go on with dusk and off with dawn, like a regular streetlight. I’d think, like you, we should call the Board of Water and Light.

During fall I forgot about it completely. Yeah, the light shines into my bedroom window, too, I just completely forgot about it. Unless it started not working in the summer, started again in the fall, and then stopped again now. You’d know better than me.

But this week! This week I totally noticed that it goes on, off, on, off at unpredictable but regular intervals and its really annoying, especially in your bedroom windows.

I meant to call BWL every day this week, but I would forget the minute I left the house. Last night I left a message with the emergency service and it will get fixed this week.

I apologize for perpetuating this point of annoyance with inaction. I won’t blame you if you glare at me come spring when we all start walking again but I do hope you’ll be over it by then. Thank you to whichever one of you is snow-blowing my front sidewalk when you do yours.
