Birthday in a pandemic

So… I don’t really talk about the fact that we’re living (and dying) in a zombie apocalypse – AKA #COVID19 pandemic. I initially wanted to blog my whole experience, but I opted not to, at least at this point.

As I post the Library School Diaries saga that I wrote last fall, I’m experiencing the good, bad, creative, and stifling sides of the world’s current struggles along with everyone else.

I’m going to take a moment to check in:

  • I was an “early adopter” of coronavirus panic.
  • I’m still employed by LM and have been #wfh for a month.
  • Hubby has been classified an essential employee and still reports each day.
  • I’m really happy we got our kitten Scout. He’s 11 months old now and brings liveliness with him everywhere he scampers.
  • On the bright side: I’m getting closer to family and friends as we support one another.
  • On the other hand: zombie apocalypse.

And today is my birthday. I turn 48. All I want is some kind of assurance-like a report out of Kings College, London-saying this will be over by my 49th. And maybe a pineapple upside cake.
