During my last semester of library school, I helped friends move from Lansing to Portland, Oregon. This required taking my Cataloging final six days early. It earned me nursing home insurance. Let me explain.
In order for my friend to arrive in Portland in time to start her new job, we had to leave on the trip during the last week of lectures. My friend and I discussed the matter of equitable exchange for this alteration of my academic schedule as reasonable adults.

For my willingness to double up on two weeks of potions – I mean Cataloging – homework, miss a week of lectures, and take the exam a week early, she shall help me move into a nursing home when I am old and gray.
As Hubby is 18 years older than me and I will probably have to dismantle our family home without him, this is significant and, I feel, very, very fair.
Cataloging. The class that keeps on giving.
Your confidence that this arrangement will actually work out as agreed boggles my mind!
