When I first read this in Harry Potter it took my breath away. I’ve judged myself on my abilities. I’ve realized that bad choices lead to consequences that you can’t control. But I had never thought to evaluate myself based on my GOOD choices. What a lovely way to look at my world.

I know, Ayn Rand, what am I thinking, right? I love her and I hate her. But I don’t feel ambivalent about this quote.
